New Funding Helps BetHog Bring Its AI Live Casino Dealers To The Wider Market

BetHog Casino

Crypto casino BetHog Casino has secured $10 million in Series A funding to push its proprietary AI live dealer technology beyond its own platform and into the hands of operators worldwide. The round was co-led by Will Ventures, a sports and entertainment venture capital firm, and RockawayX, a multi-strategy digital asset investment firm. Additional participants included PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital. BetHog says the new capital brings its total funding to $16 million.

The company plans to channel the investment into two parallel tracks: deepening the AI dealer experience on its own crypto casino and accelerating the rollout of Sentient Studios, its new business-to-business platform that lets other gaming operators deploy AI-powered live dealer tables without building the technology from scratch.

What Sentient Studios Actually Offers Operators

Sentient Studios is designed to remove the friction that typically comes with launching and scaling live dealer products. Traditional live casino supply relies on third-party studios, which can create bottlenecks around table capacity, language availability, and brand customization. Operators often have limited control over scheduling, concurrency, or how their tables look and feel to players in different markets.

BetHog's platform flips that model. Sentient Studios runs on a pure revenue-share basis, with no setup fees, monthly minimums, or fixed-term contracts. That structure is intentional - it lowers the barrier for operators who want to test AI dealers alongside their existing human-run tables without committing to major upfront costs or long integration timelines.

Operators using the platform can create unique dealer personas, design branded environments, and offer more languages without hiring additional studio staff. Table availability scales in real time based on demand rather than shift schedules, which matters most during peak hours, seasonal spikes, or late-night traffic when staffing human studios becomes expensive or impractical.

From One Blackjack Dealer to a Full B2B Platform

The foundation for Sentient Studios is BetHog's own AI blackjack dealer, Sunny, who launched in October 2025 and is now available in 12 languages. BetHog says Sunny has become one of the most played games on its platform, and the company reports that its AI dealer format is 10 times more popular than its live dealer equivalent, with stronger retention and player satisfaction scores to match.

"We've tested our basic AI dealer over the past six months and have discovered that it is 10X more popular than its live dealer equivalent. In addition, we've seen better retention and player satisfaction," said BetHog Co-Founder and Chief Executive Nigel Eccles.

Sunny was built to do things a traditional studio host cannot easily replicate at scale - greeting players by name, recalling past conversations, maintaining consistent energy across every session, and running continuously without breaks or scheduling gaps. Those traits turned a single blackjack game into proof of concept for an entirely new category of live casino product.

BetHog plans to expand its AI dealer lineup later this year with baccarat and roulette, adding to the range of games operators can offer through Sentient Studios.

Why Crypto Was the Right Testing Ground

Eccles, who previously helped build FanDuel into one of the largest daily fantasy sports platforms in the United States, has been candid about the strategic logic behind launching AI dealers on an offshore crypto casino first. Regulated markets move slowly - new titles can take months to clear approvals, and studio infrastructure requires significant fixed investment. Crypto-native platforms can ship, test, and iterate in days.

That speed advantage gave BetHog the room to experiment with AI dealer formats, collect real player data, and refine the product before bringing it to mainstream operators. The 10x engagement claim is the direct result of that approach - six months of live testing on a real platform with real players, not a controlled demo environment.

The company's broader content strategy follows the same logic. BetHog has built in-house games designed for synchronous play and streamer engagement, layered token-based rewards on top, and now productized that internal toolset into a B2B offering. The Sentient Studios launch is essentially BetHog packaging what worked internally and making it available to operators who face the same pain points but lack the resources or risk appetite to build it themselves.

The Contrast With Traditional Live Studio Investment

Not everyone in the industry is ready to move away from human-run tables. In the United States, major regulated operators have continued to invest heavily in physical live dealer studios. Caesars, for example, has expanded its branded studio network with Evolution, opening a Philadelphia-area facility in Pennsylvania and a third branded studio in Michigan. These rooms are built to reinforce brand equity, deliver a premium experience across stake levels, and maintain the kind of regulatory trust that comes with visible, human-operated infrastructure.

That investment reflects a real competitive advantage - reliability, familiarity, and brand control. But it also comes with structural constraints. Staffing caps concurrency. Localization requires new hires. Table availability is tied to shift schedules rather than live player demand. AI dealers are designed to address exactly those limitations, not necessarily by replacing flagship rooms but by filling the gaps around them.

The most likely early use cases for Sentient Studios are at the edges of an operator's existing live lobby - late-night overflow, long-tail language markets, branded promotions that would be impractical to staff for short windows, or seasonal demand spikes that would otherwise require temporary hiring. If AI dealers consistently outperform expectations in those roles, the conversation about deeper integration becomes easier to have.

What This Means for Regulated Markets

The honest answer is that the regulatory path for AI dealers in licensed United States markets is still being defined. Human-run live dealer studios have decades of compliance history behind them. AI dealers raise newer questions around responsible gaming disclosures, data privacy, and how operators represent the nature of the experience to players.

Eccles has previously acknowledged that regulated market entries would come once the product matured and once rules caught up with the technology. The B2B push through Sentient Studios is partly a way to test operator appetite outside the crypto space while that regulatory clarity develops. Licensed operators could run AI tables as pilots or supplements in markets where the rules permit, generating the outcome data that regulators will eventually want to see.

If BetHog's internal engagement metrics translate to third-party platforms - longer sessions, stronger retention, lower cost per active player - the economics will put pressure on incumbents and established live dealer vendors to respond. Large-scale providers could integrate AI personas as a new format category or as tooling inside their existing studios. Operators with strong brand identities may prefer to build proprietary AI hosts rather than rely on shared platforms.

BetHog's Own Platform in the Meantime

For players already on BetHog, the funding news signals continued investment in the features that have defined the platform's identity. The casino currently offers games from more than 20 software providers, including Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, NoLimit City, and Ezugi, alongside its own AI-powered originals. Players can deposit and play in Bitcoin or USD, with support available via live chat or at support@bethogcasino.com.

The platform's 30% rakeback welcome offer gives new players ongoing value from the moment they start wagering, and the VIP program builds on that with daily, weekly, and monthly bonuses across 10 loyalty tiers. The weekly $HOG Airdrop Lottery, drawn live every Friday, adds another layer of reward for active players, while provider-specific loss back promotions from partners like 3 Oaks Gaming and BGaming offer additional cushion on specific game categories.

The Sunny's Secrets promotion - a $50,000 cash prize for the first player to find all five hidden phrases in the AI blackjack dealer's dialogue - is still live and gives players a direct reason to explore the very technology now being pitched to the wider industry.

Whether AI dealers become a standard feature across the online casino landscape or remain a niche tool for specific use cases, BetHog has positioned itself at the center of that conversation. The $10 million raise and the launch of Sentient Studios mark the moment the company moved from internal experiment to serious industry contender. The next few quarters will show how quickly operators are willing to follow.
